State Tool installation blocked by Virus/Malware protection

If you are getting “file not found” or “access denied” type error messages during installation of State Tool or while activating projects with state activate, this might be due to 3rd-party Anti-Virus/Malware/Ransomware protection products or Windows’ built-in Ransomware protection feature to miscategorize State Tool as malware. You might also see messages from these tools directly, mentioning things like blocking “state.exe” or reporting it as potential malware.

Please report these issues to us via the Community forums and provide us with the Anti-Virus product name and information about your PC/system so that we can work with those vendors to get our tool into their white-list or provide some alternative methods for you to get State Tool in your system. Please see this post on more information about how to report issues.

Please help

Hi, those appear to be Komodo files, not State Tool. Please whitelist your Komodo profile directory with your antivirus.

I’m not sure why any antivirus would jump on those, they’re perfectly harmless. The only reason it might jump on them that I can see is that they are generated by Komodo. That’s hardly exotic behaviour though.
