I’m pleased to announce the limited release of ActiveState’s Perl 5.32 Beta. With Perl 5.32, we’re reimagining how you work with Perl from ActiveState. Rather than downloading a pre-built distribution of packages, you’ll get:
- A unified, cloud-based toolchain that will automatically build dependencies (including linked C libraries) for Linux and Windows
- Virtual environment support that automatically creates isolated working directories so you can work with multiple projects without dependency conflicts
- Pure Open Source licensing: modules you install have just their original licensing
And if you missed Perl Package Manager (PPM), we hope you’ll give Perl 5.32’s server-side build capabilities a try and let us know how you think it compares.
