Hello.

This is from a non-English speaking country.
I’m sorry if my English is not good enough.

Part 4.b of the Community License Agreement states that “you may not use the Software to provide content or functionality through external-facing or internal-facing production servers.”
However, there are times when I just want to perform a process that completes the data inside the server, such as log formatting or rotation in batch. In such a case, is it OK to use Community Edition even if it is a production server?

I had the following thought.
“On production server, I may not provide content or functionality to client PCs, other servers, systems on the server, or even administrators.”
Am I understanding this correctly?

I thought the sentence was odd, so I’ll rewrite it.

If you are looking at a local copy of a license it can be many years out of date. Based on the language of that clause you quoted, you should be aware there will likely be terms in that local copy that state that the online version of the license agreement will replace or have precedence over the terms in the local copy. If it does not have those terms in the license, the software in question is at least a decade old and has long since been withdrawn.

Please review the current language. Many of the recent revisions have been made in order to clarify the situation you are currently asking about.

Also be aware that the Community version EULA covers free use. Where a use case cannot be covered by the terms of free use, the paid tiers provide alterations or exemptions from specific conditions in the general free use EULA.
