• Started out as a Computer Scientist (graduated 1981)
• Became a Software engineer in the early to mid 1980s, working at Digital Equipment Corporation, where I designed serial terminals
• Wrote compilers and tools in the later 1980s
• Wrote terminal emulators from the end of the 1980s until about 1996
• Learned Tcl in 1996-1997 working at a start-up
• Did this and that from 1998-1995
• Embedded software design and implementation ever since
• Still use Tcl/Tk for rapid prototyping and personal entertainment
