OS: All / Any | Product: Licensing | tags: install key license location
Question:

Where do I find my license file after I run the license installer?

Answer:

Sometimes it's handy to be able to find your license file after you run the license installer. It can be helpful for debugging license issues and can make life easier when you start using your ActiveState product on another machine.

All directories below are shown relative to your home directory (found in the environment variable HOME on Linux and Mac OS X and in the environment variable USERPROFILE on Windows):

Windows: C:\Users\<username>\AppData\Roaming\ActiveState\ActiveState.lic
Windows XP: C:\Documents and Settings\<username>\Application Data\ActiveState\ActiveState.lic
Mac OS X: ~/Library/Application Support/ActiveState/ActiveState.lic
Linux: ~/.ActiveState/ActiveState.lic

The Application Data directory is usually hidden under Windows, so you may have to set Explorer to show hidden files or simply "cd" to that directory in a command prompt.

Where is the Komodo IDE 7 for Mac OS X license file location?

Komodo IDE 7.1.3
Mac OS X Mountain Lion.

This information was not correct.

The info is correct but here is the full path where you should be looking at:
/Users/USERNAME/Library/Application Support/ActiveState/ dir.

make sure your hidden files are on or you won't see the Library folder. Use the following command in your terminal to enable that.
defaults write com.apple.Finder AppleShowAllFiles YES
then restart your Finder
hold down option -> right-click Finder -> relaunch.
DONE
Hope this helps and it's not too late.

So we have purchased the IDE for our developers but alias cannot install the product without the trial version popping up.

I have searched in the forum and found that if you rename the license file it will help but cannot find such a file on our systems in the location suggested.

We have uninstalled and reinstalled twice so i guess we are missing something.

Hi,

You need to download and install the license using the installer(s) via:
https://account.activestate.com/

Once installed on a machine, restart Komodo and then Komodo should take the new license into consideration.

If that isn't working, please contact support@activestate.com and they will help diagnose any problems.

Cheers,
Todd
