Where is "system color palette"?

Hi.
I can't find the way to choose custom color in preferences. In documentation says:

click the box to the right of the drop-down list to choose a color from the color palette, or click the small arrow button to select a color from the system color palette

Where is this "small arrow button"?
This is my screen:
Komodo 5, coming soon ( Alpha builds, that is )

Here's a quick screenshot of the build that will likely become Komodo 5 Alpha 1 ( on OS X ). Some things to note:

The nice unified / native 'Leopard' look on OS X

The previous point implies correctly that we are now running on the Firefox 3 codebase.

Those are two windows; Komodo now can do multiple top-level windows.

Komodo 5 Alpha 1

$GLOBALS not showing in debug window?

Am I supposed to be seeing a $GLOBALS in my debug tab? (Yes, I know, they're to be avoided, but I don't have a choice in the matter.)

Cannot save preferences

Hi all,

after auto-updating Komodo Edit to version 4.4.1 I cannot save preferences anymore. I change my settings, click "Ok" and all seems fine. After restarting Komodo Edit my settings are gone...
I also do not have a prefs.xml anymore. I copied a prefs.xml from a colleague, but settings aren't written into this file.

Reinstalling Komodo Edit did not bring any change...

Any hints/tipps?

Thanks in advance,

Thorsten

$this not showing inside a class method

To give you a frame of reference, I'm trying out Komodo because I'm officially sick of Zend Studio's nonsense.

I happened to notice while I was doing some debugging that when I'm inside a class method, I do not have $this showing in the Debug tab. Is this by design or is it a bug?

I'm using 4.4.1 on Mac OS 10.5 with Xdebug v2.1.0-dev on PHP 5.2.3. Suggestions are welcome.

Highlight selected text on Komodo Edit

Is there a way to highlight any other appearance of the selected text?
For example, I'm editing the following file:
cat
dog
bird
dog
fish
dog

If I select the "dog" word, I would like that Komodo highlights every other "dog" word.

Thanks in advance

problem running firefox3 within komodo edit 4.4.1

In case anyone else has the same problem, any attempt to run /usr/bin/firefox from within Komodo Edit 4.4.1 on Pardus Linux 2008 would fail with the message:

/usr/lib/MozillaFirefox/firefox-bin: ./../lib/mozilla/libnss3.so: version `NSS_3.12' not found (required by /usr/lib/MozillaFirefox/libxul.so)

NSS 3.12.0.3 is the version currently installed, steps I took to resolve were:

* cd ~/Komodo-Edit-4/lib/mozilla
* mv libnss3.so libnss3.so.backup
* ln -s /usr/lib/nss/libnss3.so

Firefox problem is solved and changing the library doesn't seem to have messed up anything else so far.

EDIT: May have caused a problem, while the links under Help/Help for Languages all work with Firefox now.. clicking on Help/List Key Bindings now shows a segfault (where before it stopped at the old error msg).

./../lib/mozilla/run-mozilla.sh: line 131: 30130 Segmentation fault      "$prog" ${1+"$@"}

Does work with other browsers, not sure if it's related to the change of library version or not.

Komodo with remote (but local) files

Hi All,

First of all, Komodo is great, and I'm impressed with the great enhancements over the last year.

I have a niggly issue though. I have been using an application called sftpdrive, which creates a fake physical drive (M:) of my webroot at work (it's a linux server on a low bandwidth connection). Allowing me to transparently work like i was in the office, this has been _really_ good for me.
However, I like things being nice and fast, and while everything else is nice and fast, switching (i.e ctrl+tab) between open files takes about 5 seconds. Switching is _instant_ when editing local files.

I'm curious as to what it's doing in these 5 seconds, i've disabled "code intelligence", "Detect when files are changed outside the environment" and "Enable background syntax checking".

Can anybody suggest any setting tweaks, or further debugging I could do to stop this lag? Any help/advice would be greatly appreciated.

Many Thanks
James

"Complete word" bug?

Hi,

I'm using komodoEdit 4.4 on Windows XP Professional, but the same applies to the Linux version.

Trying to do a word comletion (Ctrl+Space) doesn't work on words containing national characters.

Completing any of the words like in "g?odny ma?y je?" (hungry little hedgehog) ends up before the first national character. So "ma?y" gets completed just to "ma".

It's not related to the character encoding selected (UTF-8, iso8859-2, win-1250 - the same happens).

It's a problem developing applications containing those characters, using word completion for speed.

Thanks
