python_tutorial.kpf missing from installation

Hi,

I've just installed Komodo Edit 4 and want to try the Python tutorial. According to the tutorial I should open a file called python_tutorial.kpf. However, the only .kpf files in the indicated location are sample_project.kpf and toolbox.kpf.

A search of my laptop also shows that those are the only two .kpf files on it.

The file that I downloaded and installed came from downloads.openkomodo.com and is titled Komodo-Edit-4.3.2-1263.msi

Does anybody know where I can get the missing .kpf or what I must do to install it?

Thanks
Bielie

remote debugging and interactive shell

I'm testing out Komodo and am particularly interested in remote debugging. I'm using the following script to invoke just-in-time debugging. This runs, hits the exception, and connects remotely to Komodo. The script comes up in the debugger with the offending line highlight. However, the interactive shell is not interactive. If I type 'dir()' or anything else, I get no response.

I've tried this running Komodo on a linux box (Redhat Enterprise 5) and a Mac (10.5.2) with the same results. Am I missing something? The docs suggest I should get an interactive prompt so I can probe the existing state.

Thanks,
jay

from dbgp.client import brkOnExcept
PerlApp on Mac OS X problem

Hi, I'm trying to creating a free-standing GUI application on Mac OS X (10.4.11) using PerlApp (ver. 7.2), together with Tkx (Perl 5.10). Everything works fine except that a terminal window appears in front of the final application even when I choose the --gui option. The terminal window shows just:
() 1 %

Any help would be appreciated.
Some sort of repository

Can we have some sort of repository for Komodo Macros and Extensions that is separated from forum type posts like this one? I'm sure that we'd get more if they were organized and accessed and searched and updated better. I seem to remember something about this a good while ago so maybe I have missed it?

Forms and other HTML (what is required?)

I am unable so far to get forms to work.

I have installed ActivePerl 5.10 (latest version to date)
I installed Apache (2.2 I think)

I am a newbie to all things perl, html etc.

I am able to run simple HTML: "hello world" type examples culled from the web.
I had some difficulties, but managed to edit the appropriate apache files and enter appropriate required Perl lines. For example, if I want to do html, I've found that the below line is how it must be done.

print "lt html code gt\n"; The code gets translated here, so suffice it to say that I have to wrap the greater than and less than brackets for html in quotes and issue a print statement

The "use CGI" example found works as well. However, it's not as obvious to me what commands I can use.

However, try as I may, google as I may, I have not found a way to get forms to work. I have tried various examples from the Inet. None seem to work. I continue to get errors such as the infamous 500. From the simple statement, Apache error log would have semicolon missing.

The following code would produce "syntax error at C:/xxxx/cgi-bin/xx.pl line 11, near "HEAD>"" I'm using fatals to browser to view the errors with out having to view the error.log.

#!c:/usr/bin/bin/perl -w

use strict;
use CGI;
use CGI::Carp qw(fatalsToBrowser);

print "\n Content-type: text/html";

 Testing a Form
---------------
the above code that gets translated in the message is simply
HTML - enclosed in brackets (next line)
HEAD enclosed in brackets TITLE enclosed in brackets SOME TEXT slash TITLE enclosed in brackets slash HEAD enclosed in brackets

I suspect there is a pm I'm missing or something of that nature is required. When I googled such, I found that aspn has a html-form.pm - but when I load ppm and look at all the packages, none are named html-form.

I'm just trying to get this stuff to work. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
