When attempting to install Email-Vaild and HTML-Entities using the ActivePerl PPM for 5.100.1001, I received this error message:
ERROR: "Don't know how to copy C:WINDOWS\TEMP\ppm-8aXPEG/Email-Address-1.88/blib/html/?l???U??
The operating system is Windows ME...I am a Perl novice and would appreciate any help.
Thanks in advance for your comments.
Hello,
What is the best version of Activestate PERL to put on a Windows 98SE machine? Any warnings/advice?
Thanks,
MDeYoung
The current Tcl distribution is labelled as supporting "# Windows XP, 2000 or Vista". Older versions of Windows are noticeably not listed.
Short of actually downloading and installing every one of the old Tcl distributions, how can we tell which of the older distributions support which older versions of Windows, e.g., Windows 98?
First I installed ActiveTcl to F:/program files/TclTk where F is an external USB drive. Then I downloaded TclDevKit, and then downloaded and installed the Active_Tcl_Pro_Studio_Windows license. I just clicked the file and I got a popup window telling me the license was installed. The license probably installed on drive C, my internal hard drive, not drive F.
When I installed TclDevKit, I again chose F:/program files/TclTk as the directory to install to. This produced the following error message:
can't read "::env(USERPROFILE)": no such variable
(read trace on "::env(::env)")
Hi people,
Does anyone of you know how to access the data of a form sent to an ISAPI PERL script with the POST method?
Thanks
Bruno
I bought the activeCD and tried to upgrade from 5.6 to 5.8.8 build 820. The MSI file on the DVD didn't work at all just caused the computer to hang up requiring a hard reboot. I got Perl installed by downloading the MSI from the web site. Now I need to rebuild my packages and when I run PPM from the command line in a DOS window a bunch of lines scroll by and then I am returned to the desktop. If I try to run PPM from the desktop with a START->RUN ppm a DOS window pops up and a bunch of lines scroll quickly through it and then it just stops.
