After several years of being a TextMate convert, the slow (non-existent) updates to the software has led me to look for a new editor/IDE.
I have been using Komodo edit for a few weeks now, and I really like the features.
But one thing that I miss from TextMate is the preference setting that allows you to save all modified files when you leave the editor (for say, a browser or a shell).
How can I do this in Komodo?
TIA,

Hi, I installed komodo on my mac with Leopard system. after setting up everything, I found komodo can't do background syntax on my perl codes..I tried the same perl code which runs smoothly on Windows, but when I run it on mac with komodo, many error messages jumps up...
I checked the 'smart coding' section in preference settings, and everything is okay...is that because Mac does not use Activestate perl or I did not properly configure the system?
thanks so much

Hello,
I have a MacBookPro (Mac OS X - 10.5.6) that I have installed PHP and Komodo (Komodo IDE, version 5.1.1, build 27706) on. The PHP version is 5.2.9 from entropy.ch. The Mac OS X 10.5 version of Apache is being used.
The paths for the entropy related PHP files are listed below:
01. Entropy PHP5 php.ini file - /usr/local/php5/lib/php.ini
02. Entropy PHP5 executable - /usr/local/php5/bin/php
03. Entropy PHP5 extension directory - /usr/local/php5/lib/php/extensions/no-debug-non-zts-20060613
Using Komodo edit 5.1.1.
The left margin of my editor window is shifted over a few spaces. It's about the same size as the folders area, but white. And as far as I can tell, is totally non-used space. Clicking in it does nothing--which makes choosing lines a little annoying.
What is with that bit of space? Can I turn it off?
This space does not exist in Komodo 4.4.1. Instead the text is right up against the folders area (which it should be, I think).
Please advise.
Thanks
Komodo IDE, version 5.1.0, build 27487, platform macosx-x86.

When I try to open a file, nothing happens. The error log has the information I pasted below. I seem to eventually get it to work by closing everything, re-starting, trying again. I'm not sure what the pattern is. This started happening with the last upgrade.

I'm evaluating Komodo IDE and I find one thing highly annoying - something that negates some of the benefits of using IDE vs. the free Komodo Edit...
I'm currently evaluating Komodo IDE 5.1.1 (and I also use Komodo Edit, however this problem occurs only in IDE) After Komodo IDE has been running for a while (with about 10 tabs open) I'm no longer able to open more tabs - double clicking in the project sidebar (or right-clicking and selecting open) doesn't do anything and no errors appear in the error console. Just nothing happens. If I close one of my tabs I'm usually (but not always) able to open one more before once again being stuck. Anyone else having this problem?
When I deal with some files that foo.rb and foo_spec.rb pairs and so on, I want to sort tabs to place the pair files side by side.
I think it will have my wish fulfilled by creating a macro to sort by name simply.
But I can't find out a method to move tab.
Tell me how to sort tabs, please.
I saw a new feature say [Better localization: Improved Komodo localization is now possible] in 5.1 what's new list.
What dose it mean?
so... I want know the how to localize Komodo IDE 5.1.
