Just posted this to the Komodo discussion list - thought i'd post here as well...
Hi All,
I'm just getting to grips with Komodo IDE as my Django dev environment..
However I can't figure out why the Python path is so different when I try a simple debug. Or when using the python console.
** Note that my OS is actually Snow Leopard (that's not a choice yet)
I recently had to rebuild my preferences and since then, I've noticed that all of my RHTML code now has a light red background color that I find really distracting. I feel like I've removed the background color for other languages in the past (I just started with Ruby/Rails), but I've been all over the Editor > Fonts and Colors section and I can't seem to track it down.
I'm running Mac OSX Snow Leopard. I installed ActivePython 2.6.2.2. However when I run terminal and type "Python" I get a response for 2.6.1 which I believe is the default installed before ActivePython.
I have found activestates ActivePython installed in "/Library/Frameworks/Python.framework/Versions/2.6/Resources/Python\" while the default is in "/System/Library/Frameworks/Python.framework/Versions/2.6/Resources/"
I don't quite understand how this is behaving. I thought if I typed python in terminal with active python installed, I should see 2.6.2.2 , is this wrong?
I am brand new to Komodo. I created a new file and wrote a small Ruby script. How do you run the script from the IDE.
PS Using Komodo Edit 5.2
I use Smarty heavily and always use double braces ({{ and }}) instead of single braces for the Smarty delimiters.
I haven't found any way to change this for the Smarty support in Komodo 5.2.
Searching the forum resulted in a couple of posts about modifying and rebuilding the language file with Luddite.
Unfortunately, I can't find the specified files anywhere on my system or in the .dmg distribution.
If there's an easy way to specify the Smarty delimiters I'd love to hear how to do it.
It works fine for OSX leopard, however, with OSX snow leopard...
When I switch between spaces, the mouse stops working, I can't click or change the position within the code until I move the cursor on using the keyboard, make it do a drop down ref ( show syntax for the language being used, or a function ) After you have a drop down appear, you have to select something using the keyboard, then move the cursor again...then the mouse will work again until you switch in spaces again.
It makes it really difficult to use the program.
Hi all
I feel I have looked everywhere, so hopefully this is not a redundant question..
I am usually pretty good with computers. I only recently started working with python and in my struggle to get it up and running I have become very very confused... and to be honest I'm not a 100% sure what versions of what I have installed. This is what I know:
-I am running Mac OS 10.5
-Python 2.5 was pre-installed
-Due to my trigger happy fingers I came to install python 2.3 :P
-I then downloaded Python 3.1 and installed it
-Read that I needed tkinter so..
Whatever I do, the only thing happening is the "Pattern Matching in progress" Message going on forever.
When I click the install button, I get the message that Firefox cannot be found and I'm offered to browse to Firefox.
If I do that, and select Firefox (Firefox30.app) nothing happens.
I renamed Firefox.app to Firefox30.app and Firefox35.app respect.
