Question:

When I attempt to increase the number of instances of an application I have deployed, the WebUI starts displaying 'Waiting for Cloud Controller' and I am forced to restart my controller role to regain webUI access. How can I stop this from happening?

Answer:

This is a bug with Stackato 2.10.4. We have a patch that you can download at http://get.stackato.com/patch/2.10/stackato-2.10.4-router-instance.sh. Once you've downloaded this patch, you should copy it over to any nodes on your cluster running the 'router' role. Once that is done you will need to ssh into each router node and execute 'sh stackato-2.10.4-router-instance.sh'. After running this command, you will need to restart the router role on the node via 'kato restart router'.

After performing this patch you should have no further problems increasing the number of instances of an application in Stackato.

We now have an improved solution to this problem which you can download here:

http://get.stackato.com/patch/2.10/stackato-2.10.4-router-fustigation.sh

If you have already applied the original patch, you can apply this patch to revert it:

http://get.stackato.com/patch/2.10/stackato-2.10.4-router-instance-rever...
