Installed AP5.14 and cannot find DBD::Oracle in the ppm. Tried using Cpan to compile the module but just flat doesn't work.

DBD-Oracle is one of the modules which requires a manual build, so the automated build system behind PPM isn't able to provide it.

DBD-Oracle is pre-installed in some ActivePerls. Availability depends on Perl version (newer is more likely) and by platform (Oracle InstaClient must be available on that platform).

The cpan script is usually able to build DBD-Oracle, but the module is tricky, and the cpan script is not pro-active about dependencies. At the minimum, the Oracle client libraries must be available when the cpan script runs, and the client library must match the bitness of the Perl.
