2.7.2 Download Link Installs 2.6.6

The download link for Windows 32bit 2.7.2 downloads "ActivePython-2.7.2.5-win32-x86.msi" but after running the install the version is 2.6.6.18. Bad link?

I've tried twice with the same result. Where's 2.7.2?

Thanks

Python dlls all co-exist in the same directory. If you don't uninstall a previous version before installing the newer one, the old dlls will still be there. On Windows, binaries will not get overwritten, so what you get is a complete mish-mash of old and new.

Make sure nothing is running Python when you uninstall. A file in use can't be deleted either.

Uninstall 2.7. You may need to re-install 2.6.6.18 before it will be available to uninstall. If necessary, manually delete the directories where Python was installed, and check your SYSTEM directory for any python dlls.
