FIXED : How to uninstall with missing or corupt msi

Posted by leegold@operamail.com on 2011-04-12 09:06

Hi,

I want to uninstall Active Python 2.6.2.2 and upgrade. Certain things are not working and it's probably time to upgrade anyway. When I try to uninstall it says "missing msi".

Before I delete all the folders and clean the registry out is there something I can try to have a normal or more graceful uninstall?

Thanks,

Lee G.

NOTE: I was able to find an old copy of: activePython-2.6.2.2-win32-x86.msi and put it in the right place for the installer and it seems like it worked. So please disregard - I think it's fixed.

By the way, latest versions of ActivePython automatically uninstalls previous patch level versions. For example, installing 2.6.6.17 will automatically uninstall your 2.6.2.2.

When you upgrade, you should check out the new feature - PyPM.
