Teacup proxy problem

Posted by jhjl on 2014-02-04 04:00

Until recently I have been able to keep my ActiveTcl distribution up to date by using teacup via a proxy:

teacup update --timeout 0 --http-proxy echowp.yyyyy.xxxx.com:8080

The timeout is set to zero due to our very slow infrastructure!

Recent attempts to update are now failing:

Problems which occurred during the operation:

Does anyone know how to work around this, I don't think our corporate Borg are going to help...

kind regards

ps
It would be nice to have a batteries complete binary installation for those of us who do not have internet connections on our development machines :(

Is it possible you have more than one layer of Proxies?

The specs for loop detection are fairly arcane,
http://www.ietf.org/rfc/rfc3261.txt

I don't see any easy work-arounds there.

If it turns out there is more than one Proxy, you should point to the last one anyway. If it is the case that your current one is not the last one, bypassing intermediate proxies may avoid the reason triggering the loop detection.
