I see the latest 5.2 betas have no PowerPC build available; is PowerPC support being dropped?

Yes, we are likely to end up dropping powerpc builds of Komodo. Komodo 5.2 does not currently have powerpc builds.
Do you require a Komodo PowerPC build? Which OS X version are you running?

I have a few late-model cheesegrater G5s running latest plain ol' Leopard. I was hoping to string them along for a while longer (through the end of the year/into 1Q '10).
As a rule we never upgrade until (at least) the .3 release, and I was hoping to stretch our hardware refresh cycle as long as possible, since other than that odious CPU :) they're great machines.
