vi emulation not working Komodo Edit 5.0?

Posted by AndreaTrasatti on 2009-01-18 12:15

I just upgraded Komodo Edit for OS X from version 4 to 5.0.3. It looks much better overall, but I just realised that the VI emulation does not seem to work.

I went into preferences, in the Key Bindings, I can check the "Vi emulation", save and restart, but after restart the check disappears all the time. I also tried to create another binding name even though I haven't changed anything of the default settings, but it still does not emulate vi. Even using the "Vi" key map doesn't work as I would expect.

Any suggestion is welcome.

Todd will be back from vacation next week and can have a look then.

Thanks,
Eric

Hi,

I've just upgrade from komodo edit 5.1 to 5.2.1 on windows and have same problem as above, that the VI emulation does not seem to work.

"I went into preferences, in the Key Bindings, I can check the "Vi emulation", save and restart, but after restart the check disappears all the time. I also tried to create another binding name even though I haven't changed anything of the default settings, but it still does not emulate vi. Thanks
Jeremy

Hi Jeremy,

The Komodo 5.1 to 5.2 upgrade may have re-enable some extensions, ensure the "Source Tree" extension is not enabled (check in the Tools->Add-ons menu)- as that has a negative affect on the vi keybinding emulation.

Cheers,
Todd

Hi Todd,

That has fixed it, I disabled "komodo source tree".

Many Thanks
Jeremy
