I just installed Komodo Alpha 5.2.0 alpha1 - not as the default. It appears to have removed my exisitng Komodo installation. Komodo does not start popping up a box saying that Platform version 1.9.0.11 is not compatible with maxVersion<=1.9.0.6 which seems reasonable. But now I have no Komodo. I attach picture of error XULRunner box.
This is XP Pro and I have been using 5.2.1
I'll now try and get that version back!
Cheers, Peter

When installing the (alpha) package a dialog appears that includes an 'x'ed option to install as Komodo default. Since I did not want to install as the default that was fine so I clicked next. Bad move! Below the main part of the dialog, in light type black on grey is the path to my current installation. Unless I change it to some other path I overwrite stuff and get the result described in the bug. I vaguely recall that this happened to me before. The UI should be modified here so that clicking through without changing anything works as expected.
Another thing - can you give alpha releases a different icon, maybe with an alpha on top of the lizard (depiction)? You could do one for beta's too.
OK now.

Hi Peter,
Yes, this is a common problem with the Komodo installation, we have a bug on it here:
http://bugs.activestate.com/show_bug.cgi?id=77045
Added a new bug for the different icon and branding idea:

Thanks Todd, I checked out the bugs you mentioned. FWIW I installed to an 'alpha' folder. The general branding of versions alpha/beta seems to me a good idea.
