Color Schemes - Will this happen or not?

Dear ActiveState,

Looking at this topic which was posted over 2 years ago and has the most comments out of any thread, Where to find Komodo Edit color schemes?, I see that there is strong user demand here.

ActiveState, please setup a repository of user submitted Schemes where we can preview and vote on our favorite Schemes? Also make it easy to import Schemes. The post referenced above is testament to where Komodo needs improvement.

I'd like to hear ActiveState's official POV.

Thank You

We have the plans to implement a color scheme repository for easily sharing Komodo color schemes.

We added the ability to drag and drop the "ksf" color schemes files into Komodo (from a web page or from the desktop), with Komodo offering to install and preview the new scheme file. The community web site repository of schemes is the last piece of the puzzle so to speak.

Cheers,
Todd

It would be nice to have color scheme repository, but how about fixing syntax coloring in Komodo?

There is a 2007-2008 thread about syntax coloring in which authors (myself including) described plenty of problems.

Since then the only progress concerning syntax coloring was adding possibility to set different background colors for different languages in multi-language documents. All other problems remain.

Also remains valid my conclusion in this post:

syntax coloring in Komodo neither works out of the box nor it is possible using graphical interface to set it according your preferences. It is big contrast with such editors as PSPad or Dreamweaver in which you have both.

It seems that dev team does not consider syntax coloring any priority. But poor syntax coloring results into quite poor overall usability although in most other respects Komodo is great.
