ActivePerl Will Not Install on Windows XP x86 MID Device UMID M1

Posted by cruisefx on 2009-09-30 13:24

I have Windows XP Home preinstalled on my UMID Mbook M1. Its resolution is 1024x600. Whenever I try to install ActivePerl by double-clicking on the MSI file, a blank white-backgrounded window with lots of scroll space in the horizontal and vertical scrollbars appears. The cursor turns into an "insert text" cursor like in a word processor within the window. I cannot close the Window and nothing appears in the Window. The title of the installer appears in the title bar. I must Alt+Ctrl+Del and forcefully shutdown the installer. Trying to scroll down or across with the scrollbars are useless, as the position just reverts back to the top and to the left. Of course, this prevents me from even getting close to installing ActivePerl on my system. Please help. Thanks.

I don't know how it happened, but it was a fluke. A reboot fixed the problem. Sorry for the false alarm.
