Where is plc.exe?

Posted by jorno on 2008-02-04 15:41

I've downloaded the PDK trial, but I can't seem to find the plc.exe compiler. I need to use an existing perlscript in a .net application.. I really don't want to buy the full version for just creating ONE .dll..

Anyone know how to get the plc.exe?

Security changes that Microsoft added to .NET made PerlNET very difficult to work with in 7.0. It was not possible to make all the alterations required for .NET 2.0 SP1 compatibility, and still issue a version of PDK that could allow people to work with Perl 5.10 in a reasonable timeframe. As a result, PDK 7.1 was issued with 5.10.0 compatibility, but with PerlNET temporarily removed. PerlNET will return with fixes in PDK 7.2.

One more thing I should point out - trial versions of PDK will produce a dll that expires when the trial license expires. A dll that expires won't be a long-term solution.

.NET is back. PDK 7.2.0 will require .NET 2.0, with SP1 strongly recommended.
