PerlSvc example please

OS: Windows XP Pro

I have never written a working Windows Service in any language. So, without at least a trivial example to go by, I am completely baffled by the documentation.

My Perl script works perfectly well as a standalone program, but I cannot work out how to modify the source code to work with PerlSvc.

Does anybody have a trivial example that I can use as a template?

The PDK includes 2 sample services

They are normally installed here:

C:\Program Files\ActiveState Perl Dev Kit 7.0\Samples\PerlSvc
