Hi,

I have PPM installed and can use the command-line interface, but per the Getting started I can not not just type 'ppm' and get the GUI - I get the command line. What might I be missing?

Thanks,

Stiles

Hi Stiles,

Which version of ActivePerl are you using? The PPM GUI was introduced in 5.8.8.819, if I remember correctly.

Cheers,

There is no GUI support for x64 bit versions. Uninstall and install the x86 version. You should have GUI access after that.

I have both x86 and x64 active perl installed.

I can open x86 PPM GUI but how do I see x64 packages in GUI?

PPM will not work the way you expect it to in the case where both 64-bit and 32-bit versions are installed. This is a known limitation of PPM version 4.

When both 32 and 64 bit Perls are installed, the only PPM which will work correctly is *the last one installed*.

If you need the first PPM to work, you must temporarily remove the directory for the last PPM from the $PATH variable.
