Multiple Finds

Posted by aaroncampbell on 2008-07-18 07:16

I'm sure I'm missing it, but in Zend Studio I could do a search, then do a second one and choose to open the results in a new search tab so I had both to look at. I see that the results tab in Komodo is called "Find Results 1" which makes it seem like this is possible, but I don't see how to do it.

Yes, Komodo has the ability to lock a Find Results tab, so that it does not get overwritten (you should see a Lock icon in the top-right-hand corner of the "Find Results 1" tab, which you can toggle as locked/unlocked.

When the first find tab is locked, a second search will automatically create a "Find Results 2" tab.

Note: Komodo limits the number of find tabs to be a maximum of 2.

Cheers,
Todd

Is there anyway to override that limit? I don't think a reasonable limit is bad, but 2 is pretty low. I'd think 5 would be more reasonable.

Hi Aaron,

No, currently it's a hard coded limitation set at 2 tabs. There is an enhancement request to remove this limitation here:

Thanks. I added my two cents to the bug.
