Manually uninstalling ActivePython on OS X

Posted by aspivelox on 2007-01-31 07:55

I foolishly attempted to manually delete activestate python. I need to run the pydistro.py script, but of course I've haven't got it any longer. How can I get a new copy? I'm currently unable to reinstall activestate python.

Thanks in advance,

Nick

Hello Nick,

You may try deleting the package receipt for ActivePython. It should be in the /Library/Receipts directory.

Cheers,

If you just deleted the ActivePython stuff in "/Library/Frameworks/Python.framework/..." the pydistro script is also in the Receipt dir:

/Library/Receipts/ActivePython-2.4.pkg/Contents/Resources/pydistro.py
