Personally, I think it would be awesome if Git support was added to Komodo, especially since it seems that a lot of the Ruby community is moving to it.
I think it would be better if VCS support was added to Open Komodo instead of Komodo IDE. There are so many version control systems being released, especially DVCS like git/mercurial/bazaar/etc., that it would be better to provide an API to allow you to hook up the VCS framework of the week to Komodo. There's no way the ActiveState guys can keep up on their own.
Of course, there's the tension between the paying product and the open source one. :) I'm not trying to make money off Komodo, so ActiveState may have a different POV.

I'm curious as to what commands would need to be covered by Komodo in order to properly support Git, similar to Mercurial commands listed here:
