annoying full path in editor tabs

all of a sudden, certain files appear with their full path in the editor's tab instead of just the filename.

how does this happen and how can this be corrected? are the project settings corrupt? it is very annoying, indeed, and wastes a lot of screen space.

Wow, I've never seen that before. Could it be that you've added a Komodo extension/macro that customizes the tab label?

It's not likely the project settings or user preferences, though it could possibly be a corrupt Komodo installation...

Darn django-komodo-kit, it didn't do anything useful for me and it stuffed up those paths.

I'm have trouble getting rid of it... anyone know how to?

ah that sinking feeling... I just uninstalled and reinstalled Komodo... the django-komodo-kit stuff is still there :(

Extensions are in the Komodo user data directory

The user data directory is untouched by a reinstall. If you're trying to get rid of an extension, try removing it via "Tools|Add-ons|Extensions -> Uninstall". If that doesn't do it, you can reset the Komodo user data directory:
