ALT-drag column selection

Hey folks,

I read in the help that column selection can be performed by holding alt and then dragging with the mouse. In both Gnome and KDE Window Managers on Linux this is the default binding to move a window - so this gets you your Komodo window moved all over ye shoppe without having the desired column select. I know you can do this with shift-alt-left and shift-alt-right arrow (default key bindings). It'd be nice if there could be a switch to switch from column select mode back to normal (didn't this used to be on the status bar back in the day?). Column select could become more important partic. if we get column editing :)

On a related note. I found out about the shift-alt-left and shift-alt-right because they were rebound from what used to me my favourite and most lost-lamented komodo feature (I am a man of simple tastes) - select next and previous part word. I used to use this all the time, and now realise it's still in there, just unbound to make room for the column select keys instead...

Unfortunately, I couldn't find any way to change the key/mouse binding to something that doesn't collide with Gnome and KDE. There's a bug for creating access to Mouse-plus-key bindings (presumably via the keybinding prefs) here:
