ActivePerl Compilation Aborted

Posted by camleish on 2007-11-28 15:47

I installed ActivePerl on my MacBook (several times) in the hopes of running a Perl script (pretty basic), but I get this error message:

Macintosh:/users/camleish/desktop Camleish$ perl
Can't locate LWP/ in @INC (@INC contains: /System/Library/Perl/5.8.6/darwin-thread-multi-2level /System/Library/Perl/5.8.6 /Library/Perl/5.8.6/darwin-thread-multi-2level /Library/Perl/5.8.6 /Library/Perl /Network/Library/Perl/5.8.6/darwin-thread-multi-2level /Network/Library/Perl/5.8.6 /Network/Library/Perl /System/Library/Perl/Extras/5.8.6/darwin-thread-multi-2level /System/Library/Perl/Extras/5.8.6 /Library/Perl/5.8.1 .) at line 7.
BEGIN failed--compilation aborted at line 7.

What is the solution?

If you could, email me at camleish[at]gmail[dot]com

The @INC shows that you are still using the Apple System Perl, and not ActivePerl.

Please read the install guide section on configuring for OS X post installation. Every version has these instructions available in the local docs, and current community versions have the docs posted online.
