Currently there is no automated notification of updates, but it is something that I want to get added, lots of people basically asking the same question you have.

Hi,

I was running Komodo IDE 4.0.3 and happened to come on the main site and noticed that 4.1 was out.

Is there any mechanism in place to notify users of updates?
