Re: last modified timestamp

This is likely due to some security (or virus) application outside of Komodo.

If you are running ZoneAlarm, try stopping ZoneAlarm and then saving the file inside of Komodo to see if this then updates the timestamp correctly. See following thread for context:
http://forum.zonelabs.org/rss/message?board.id=Antivirus&message.id=12034

Cheers,
Same Problem: File modification time not updated

I have the same problem. The file modification time is not updated, when saving a file. Have you found a solution for this ?

Hi Ed,

Where/what filesystem are you saving to when this occurs? Is it some type of webdav system, samba network share?

Thanks,
Laptop security software

Fully covered for virus protection etc.

I've verified it occurs on another laptop here but not on a desktop which leads me to think it is something in our security/encryption stack on our standard laptop build.

Strange that it only affects Komodo and Wordpad while vim and notepad are fine.

Virus?

The problem sounds very very strange and may point to some sort of rootkit on your system that is attached to explorer.exe and manipulating your system. The only purposes I can think of for messing with mtime *on purpose* ( as opposed to just windows being windows ) are not legitimate purposes. If you don't have AV software, the 'Google Pack'[1] includes a free version of Norton.

[1] http://pack.google.com/intl/en/pack_installer_required.html?hl=en&gl=ca

Seems to work fine on my XP

Seems to work fine on my XP home machine at home also.

Date modified is updated fine with vim (which I use for perl), notepad, MSword, excel etc.

Wordpad exhibits the same behaviour (not updating modification time).
I'm guessing there is something else installed that is interfering but only with komodo and wordpad.

It's all a bit strange but means I need to open and save using vim after any edit sessions.
Works for me?

I tried creating and updating a file on Windows with Komodo, and the Windows Explorer 'Date modified' field was displayed correctly for me. This seems like an OS issue, as Komodo has no control over the date modified field unless we were for some reason explicitly re-setting that back after file save (which we are not).

date modified not updated on file save - windows xp

When saving a file in komodo edit the date modified attribute on the file does not get updated.

This is confusing svn as it thinks no update has been done. I can manually open the file in vim and just save exit and the modification time updates fine.

I'm running Komodo edit 4.0.2 on Windows XP pro.

Anyone know if this is a known issue or if there is a workaround ?

Ed
