jQuery.extend(true, Komodo, "Awesome!")

Ooh this release snuck up on me, can't wait to enjoy the auto-update. Also unmentioned here is true jQuery support! Will be awesome to have 1.2 support but I know we are all waiting on the XML API Docs translation. I'm also excited for the Open Komodo, thanks for all the hard work guys! WebDev is getting easier by the picosecond. I don't know how I ever did it before Komodo!!

Komodo's spellchecker is similar to Thunderbird's, and...

I was looking more at how Thunderbird handles dictionaries, and on the Mac they're stored in /Applications/Thunderbird.app/Contents/MacOS/dictionaries/

I don't know how Firefox is handling dictionaries, but the Komodo code uses the Mozilla spellchecker, which definitely looks in the application's install area, and not in the profile area.

Thanks

Thanks Eric, that's a useful document. :-)

Incidentally I found that my dictionaries (i.e. the ones that I've installed myself) are stored in my Firefox profile, but that might be specific to Macs, I don't know?

Looking good

I've just been playing around with Komodo 4.2 and it looks good so far - the soft characters in particular are a nice addition.

One question regarding the spell checking though: is it possible to change the dictionary to British English?

A new spell checker: find tpyos before they go live

Komodo 4.2.0 released!

Today we released Komodo 4.2.0 Final after a lengthy and productive Beta cycle. For those of you who just want a link, here it is:

http://downloads.activestate.com/Komodo

What's new in Komodo 4.2

Auto update: no more checking for the latest features or need to reinstall Komodo to get the latest version

Soft characters: automatic insertion of closing brackets, braces and parentheses

Komodo Community site now hosts user-created extensions, and installed extensions can be auto-updated, just like in Firefox

A new spell checker: find tpyos before they go live

Upgraded Scintilla to version 1.74

Cursor shape is now configurable

Documentation improvements and new Creative Commons licensing to support translations contributed by users

Code Browser's filter now supports regular expressions (Python syntax)

Improved Vi emulation

Better Live Folders performance

New for Perl: debugger and autocomplete improvements

New for Python: code intelligence and code browser updates

New for PHP: better code intelligence and autocomplete performance

New for Ruby: improvements to the Rails project template and debugger

New for Tcl: bug fixes

New for JavaScript: code intelligence, autocomplete and debugger changes

Read more about Komodo 4.2 features:
